Quickstart

Create a TurbineKit project and run it on your machine, with a local database and no paid service.

You need Node.js 24 and pnpm 10 (run corepack enable once).

Create the project

pnpm create turbinekit my-app

The CLI asks for the product’s name, a one-sentence description, the languages and the modules. It installs the dependencies, writes apps/web/.env.local with a fresh secret, and makes the first commit.

Start the database and the app

cd my-app
pnpm db:local # Postgres-compatible PGlite, no Docker
pnpm db:migrate # in a second terminal
pnpm dev

Open http://localhost:3000 and create an account. Without an email provider, the verification email goes to the dev mailbox at http://localhost:3000/api/dev/mailbox.

Hand it to your agent

Open the project in Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. The agent reads AGENTS.md first, and SETUP.md lists the services to set up, one box per step.
